RE: [Avid-L2] Avid Laptop

Out of interest, I just customized one to that spec here: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/w-series/w530/#customize

It comes out at $2141 US

Hi Mark, I can highly recommend the ThinkPad W530, as I own one:

-quadcore i7 3720QM CPU

-Crucial M4 128GB SSD

-16GB DDR3 1600 RAM

-NVidia Quadro K2000 graphics(+intel4000 embedded chip for less demanding stuff and prolonged battery)

-1920x1080 FHD screen with 95% color gamut

-USB3 + miniDP+GigE ports

-Intel 6300 WiFi+BT

-Avid qualified

expect to pay~1,500$ for the above config, when on sale

cheers,

BG

Hey all.

I'm in the market for a new lappy and was wondering what people's
experiences were running MC on a PC laptop with an Intel Chip but AMD
Graphics inside. (_PLEASE_ no "get a mac" responses. It's not an
option) I know Nvidia is the requirement, but I also know people run
AMD. Frankly, I'd rather run Nvidia, but there seem to be more option
out there in my price range that use AMD for the graphics end of things.

The fact of the matter is that the system is not going to be used for
Avid very much if at all. It's primarily for a other work programs but
a back up in case I need it or have to edit away from my Workstation.

Thoughts?

Thanks
Mark
