[Avid-L2] Re: A goodbye; Selling my copy of MC7 + Dongle

Agreed. Finishing is the future...

A lot of us today are working in full-res AMA-linked video and sound and editing the movie or show as we see it ultimately being. Not a proxie. I will still collaborate with the finishing talents of color and sound artists, they know those worlds better than I ever will, but I need the space to properly explore and communicate what the vision is. I know that makes sense to a lot of people in my low-budget-yet-high-quality-indie film situation...

I just hope Avid is listening...??

If Baselight or Resolve color correction was integrated into the Relational color correction, that Avid already has the metadata hooks for, there would be no reason to mess around with all the tedium of round tripping etc... Avid would own the vast majority of finishing work of broadcast/cable television. Last minute changes are the norm for all my work and the ping ponging in and out of Avid is a major time waster so I stick with symphony color correction. If I had fully integrated baselight or resolve it would be a no brainer for a workflow.
