[Avid-L2] DPX column weirdness

v6.5.3 - If I enter a start value in the DPX column on a subclip, Avid automatically and immediately changes it to a different value. The value it changes it to is what he DPX number *would be*, if the number I had entered was the first frame of the Master clip from which the subclip was made (e.g. If I enter the number 00001, Avid automatically changes it to 00011 if the subclip starts a the 10th frame of the master clip).

However, if you call up the DPX number in the TC display above the Source monitor, the correct, intended value appears - Avid doesn't change it.

If I enter a value on a Master clip, it appears correctly in both bin column and TC display (but this doesn't fit my workflow).

Is this a bug or is there some logic behind it that I'm missing?

My aim is to independently define the start DPX number of a subclip - which I used to be able to do.
