RE: [Avid-L2] Meridien codecs compatible with MC v2.8.3

Hi Roger,

The files I'm trying to access are Meridien-encoded QTs and as detailed
below a few months back, in trying to read an DNxHD file from a client,
I updated the codecs without backing-up the existing files. Since then,
I hadn't been able to read legacy QT files that I need. I'd tried
accessing variation iterations of the codecs (v1.8, v1.9 and v2.3.7,
each with different error messages) but I discovered the 'nut behind the
wheel' issue. The codec.pkg was inside a folder on my desktop and it was
from there that I was trying to launch, to no avail. When dragged out
onto the desktop, all is sweetness and light.

Live and learn

Ian

p.s. @ Mark Spano. Tried your approach but the files weren't showing in
the manner you detailed.

Not quite clear what the problem is. If the footage is in the form of
Avid media files, then no codec package is needed, surely? Even if the
files are QuickTimes encoded with a Meridien codec, the codec package is
installed with MC and will read the QTs. If Avid Media Files, are they
in the correct folder and location? Even with MC 6.5 and 7, the Meridien
codecs show up in QT-savvy applications.

With Best Wishes,
