Do you really think Ace challanged CMX for real? I remember Varitel Video setup an Ace edit system they got 2nd hand which came with some VPR-3s. It wasn't long before they replaced it with an ISC controller. I know it had some great interaction with ADOs and Ampex switchers but never caught on in LA in the places I worked.
