[Avid-L2] Re: DNxHD from Sony F3 Camera

John, you are missing the point. This is a video recorder made by a company that actually values audio. They are giving you a way to fix things that are inherently wrong in just about every other digital audio recorder. And those don't give you control.

Remember that, by design, you can have SDI video from the camera, which can have output processing on the SDI stream - together with possible input processing on the PIX. Then audio can be analog to the camera and analog to the PIX - or - analog to the camera and SDI to the PIX - or - double-system to the PIX separately - or - even other permutations.

Wouldn't you actually like to have controls so you don't have to "fix it in post" ? The issue isn't the complexity of the tool, but whether the crew is allowed the time to learn the tools they are supplied with. The PIX240 is best handled by a competent location sound mixer and not any of the other possible crew positions.
