NewTek Inc. Emmy® Award-winning manufacturer of industry-leading video and 3D animation products including; TriCaster™, 3Play™ and LightWave 3D®. is currently seeking a creative Video Editor/Technical Director for our Video Production Department to shoot and edit compelling presentations for brand awareness, customer experience, product promotion, education and training. Projects include live stage presentations, customer case stories, webinars, promotional videos and commercials.

The Video Editor/Technical director is responsible for all aspects of production for video projects including, technical approach, shot list creation, live production, webcasting, sound mixing, lighting design, audio/video editing and motion graphic design.  The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, ability to interpret a treatment or script and shoot, edit and distribute a final video project. This position will work out of our San Antonio offices with some travel required for productions and trade shows.

Duties
Edit a wide range of video projects including promotional materials, training, elements for live productions and corporate communications.
Assist with live productions, webcasts and corporate events
Apply predetermined design specifications or develop original artistic treatments for video projects
Design and create motion graphic elements
Basic studio and field video camera work
Audio production including music selection, recording and mixing
Prepare final elements for compression and distribution
Organization of media assets and master recordings.

Requirements
Strong non-linear editing experience
Track record of editing a large amount of digital video/audio content 
Understanding of modern video and audio standards
Understanding of video compression and digital distribution 
Live multi-camera production experience 
Media and asset management
Motion graphic design
Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communication and team working skills

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience in the production and editing of high quality recorded and live video content for marketing, advertising, product demonstrations and training. The applicant must be knowledgeable in live video production, webcasting, video editing, motion graphics design, and 2D and 3D animation. Take ownership and drive the process of planning and coordination necessary to create and release new video projects. Work closely with the project stakeholders to gather and refine technical, operational and/or business requirements related to production, track/manage productions to successful completion, communicating status, issues, and risks to project stakeholders. Keep projects on schedule and within scope and budget, clearly present delivery timetables and keep them updated if going outside agreed completion times -- i.e., editing issues, equipment problems, not enough time budgeted, etc., manage the resolution of live-site technical and/or operational issues, select and manage external vendors as required, utilize project-planning tools to ensure timely completion of project tasks and deliverables with a high degree of quality, write documentation to aid project management of future projects, ensure all projects are well documented and that the documentation is available/updated as projects evolve/change and ensure all video and audio masters are easily identified and retrievable.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) and/or 3-5 years related experience. Experience in audio/visual production,
Software Knowledge: Avid Media Composer or similar non-linear video editing programs, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Sorenson Squeeze or similar compression software
