I have a personal website hosted through GoDaddy and I've never had
trouble. That being said, I'm thinking about switching hosts due to
the controversy over their CEO hunting and killing an elephant in
Zimbabwe last year, and posting a video online about it. Not cool, in
my opinion.
Since you're in New York, why not look into a local provider, like
www.panix.com ?
