I think Terry' spot-in here. For example (and many people are going to think I'm crazy, but...) I really do believe that most people have way overestimated the effect 3D had on "Avatar"'s success. Yes, stereo contributed to its phenomenal box office. And it was a terrific hype lever. But someone please look me in the eye and tell me that Jim Cameron's first movie in 12 years, Jim Cameron, director of TITANIC -- TITANIC, the previous all-time world box office champ -- someone tell me that his first movie since all of that was NOT going to make a gazillion dollars anyway.

In the case of "The Lion King", here's one of Disney's most beloved titles. And here's a generation of people who grew up on it who now have kids on their own. Someone look me in the eye and tell me that this horde wasn't going to take their kids to see 'Lion King' whether it was in 3D or not.
