[Avid-L2] Re: Apple Firewire 800 Limited to 2TB on external drive?

 

Yeah I'm going to try one of my other enclosures at home that's got all the same connects. I got the HDX enclosure because a lot of people said it was the cat's meow with a nice robust power supply. The enclosure is fine but if there is a limit to the chip set that's a pretty big issue for a relatively expensive enclosure box. Also the box itself is not that robust and the power connector for the drive has a tendency to lose the back snap on cover that hold the pushed in power cables in position in the push in punchdown like connection. Once the back cover is off the wires like to come loose. I've had the back cover pop off on two different enclosures so I'm not too thrilled with the product right now. You can snap the cover back on if you notice in time. The nice carrying case doesn't make up for these new found short comings in my book.
