That's what I was going to say. Look at the Sound Devices PIX
recorder: Comes with ProRes, DNxHD is a $100 (last I heard) option:

I guess it would be cool to have Io HD work with MC. But I'm about
ready to leave FireWire behind. But external boxes, connected by
Thunderbolt, USB3, or whatever appropriate protocol, will be welcome.
