Short answer is no. Long answer is that, if you know how to hack a QT file in Dumpster (if that even runs any more) then I believe it is theoretically possible.
Personal experience. In trying to automate a solution to a Captured in FCP 7 and Used in FCP 6 issue, the Applescript ran fine and safe on the development system, but on the first test on the client system, it saved the files without the video, expect it hadn't deleted it just the reference. With all the contacts I have and reaching out as far as I could I could not find a way to change the data back to show the full files again.
