No hints, but I can theorize. Since 5.5 is the last 32 bit version, then 6 would be 64 bit. That would take different engineering on the drivers. If I was a manufacturer, I would probably put my resources into the newer version.
But I'm not a manufacturer, so who knows. Maybe if AJA and Avid heard from tons of users who wanted it on 5.5, they might put the effort in.
