Yes we use our Adrenalines on local storage and they seem to like that better. We also tend to go the more conventional route of SD offline. Although we now avoid the conform by capturing and importing at HD and then transcoding down to SD. Then just relink at the end. But the HD work we do direct doesn't suffer the issues described.
What I do like is HD SD timing is right. We have a Kona on our FCP (legacy) and the hoops we have to jump through if we want to use the cards up or downconvert to resolve the video ( but not audio) delay introduced.
We'll be looking at the DX hardware for MC V6 mainly because it will avoid those sort of "issues"
