So.
- Avid has the wrong Sony XDCam AMA drivers on the main AMA download page
http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=394827
(although support has a manual procedure and the right ones in the KB,
thanks Terry)
- Avid has TOTALLY the wrong web page link in the READ ME for the qualified
drivers for XDCam devices - such as the PDW-U1 drive - sending you to the
consumer site (page 28)
- Sony's main software download site is now down until at least 7/25
https://www.servicesplus.sel.sony.com/UnderMaintenance.aspx
- Sony does have in addition a very nice page on their XDCam Microsite page
with the correct AMA driver - but not the correct VFAM driver for the U1
http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/micro-xdcam/resource.downloads.bbsccms-assets-m
icro-xdcam-downloads-XDCAMSoftwareDownload.shtml#apps
.and this is progress.
