What he said! Yes, V.5 audio monitoring replicated some of the worst imbecilities of FCP timeline design. What the hell for?

The more Avid tries to be like Final Cut the less reason there is to use Avid...

FCP's timeline sucks too.

Avid needs to be differentiating, not copying. Think PhraseFind is unique? The
same company that created it (NOT Avid) made it for FCP FIRST (called GET). The
only difference is that it's a 3rd party plug in for FCP and it's an optional
add-on on Avid... Not much of a distinguishing feature, other than the Avid
markup.

Get, PhraseFind and even parts of ScriptSync are all from the same company:
Nexidia. FCP can't do ScriptSync because of Avid patents, but Avid couldn't do
ScriptSync without Nexidia.
