I've tried finding more examples of this on the net and in the forums but no
one else seems to be reporting this so, it could well be my site that has
the differential but anyways...when working with XDCAM media on Unity MN
(vers. 5.1.3), we've found that when media is deleted from the project
(XDCAM media - to make space for newer media, for example), we have to cross
our fingers and hope that only that media is deleted because 99% of the
time, media that isn't in any way connected to that project will also be
deleted. This only happens with XDCAM media. Tape based media is fine.
The client is using an XDCAM server (developed in-house) for all their XDCAM
media that is ingested directly from the studios. The editors then choose
the media they will work with (Episode/Scene etc) and drag these clips to
their MC bins. This imports the media to the MN and they then start their
edit process. Problem comes up when storage becomes an issue and they have
to make room by deleting stuff.
Anyone seen this before? Heard anything?
TIA
Raj
