I have no first hand knowledge, but I'd be surprised if cropping odd numbers would invert the fields. You're not actually ADDING or SUBTRACTING video lines... just saying that you want to add BLACK lines. But I'm just guessing. Also, I'd think that the software would - if it thought it would be switching field order - would subtract an EVEN number from the top and an ODD number from the bottom to make up for it. But I'm no code monkey.
