Thanks everyone for all the suggestions.
I have tried the search and destroy method, and when I find the offending clips, i remove them completely and test it out and it plays fine. The problem is, when i put the sequence back together, it starts up again. I have tried rebuilding settings/databases, bringing in the sequences to a new project, creating new sequences, etc... However, I have not tried switching my preferences to remove stop at head edits. I will try that and see if it helps.
Also, one of the editors was working on a system that didn't have any of the patches for 5.0.3, so I installed the 5.0.3.9 patch, and he says his system has been working like a charm, even on the sequences which were supposedly currupt. I then realized that the rest are only up to 5.0.3.8. Could this be the problem?

If you want to donate to Red Cross quake relief, you can do so through your cell phone. Text redcross to 90999 to make a $10 donation. It will be on your next cell bill.
