I think this currently only works with IBM drives and it is pretty
limited as of this time.

A lot of people are getting excited about it (and with good reason,
maybe) but I think there may be an element of wish fulfilment involved
at this time.

I am planning to get a tape drive and attach it to a machine and see
what it can do (sometime). Has anyone done that already? If so can you
let us know how it worked: pluses and minuses. First question; can you
network the LTFS drive and access it from multiple machines or are you
locked to the workstation with the drive attached?

As I understand it, LTO 5 has an advanced file system format that lets
it operate closer to a traditional drive for specific data retrieval.
