If the mixer is providing it's own sync, it's probably 44.1k and not 48.
Try 44.1 on the Avid (easier) or point the mixer sync lock to the AES coming
from the Avid.

I am in a 1080i 5994 project and the Avid (MC5.03) will not let me capture a
scratch recording from the booth via AES/EBU. The error message says "The
AES/EBU #1/2 source is not connected. Please connect it or change inputs."
The mixer is an O1V96 and it is connected with the multi pin aes/ebu
connector to the avid
