[Avid-L2] Re: HDCAM F-500 throughput level changes

I have more experience with the 5500 deck but I think some things are pretty standard. As has been suggest set the deck to internal signal generator and set the generator to smpte bars. How does that look on the scope. If that's okay make a test record and see how that plays back. Then put the scope the source of the bars. What is the source of the bars? If it's Avid it's pretty rare that would be off but if it's FCP or others the video output card may be setup wrong. As was suggested maybe there is a RGB vs 709 in the settings that is off. Let us know what it turns out to be, always looking to find new traps in the land of layer menu settings.

The client states that when inputing bars, the deck changes the video levels on throughput (e to e). 100 IRE jumps to 107 IRE and Black level drops. Also the decks input check button shows input bars are correct. And the client states that one of his known HDCAM masters plays back fine.
