I've been working on a Mac based Symphony for the last six months.
MC.5.0.3 It's the most stable, best performing Avid I've work on in years.
Every bit as reliable as the old meridian based systems. Rock solid, Fast and Mac comfortable. We're running Unity with a variety of Mac based offline rooms.
I highly recommend the a new Mac system.
Just my 2 cents.

We were running 4.0.5 and I can tell you, the system smokes! Fast rendering, also ran AE renders in the background while editing in Symph with no issues.
