When you import an AAF into ProTools, you enter the DigiTranslator tool. The
option to ignore rendered audio effects is there.

Yes. You need not change the sequence format. If you have a sequence that
contains PAL clips, they will play - without adapters - in a PAL project.

No, sync is sync, cuts are cuts.
It should work, AFAIK, but why not subsequence the married parts, and export
each from their native project format?
