[Avid-L2] Re: MCsoft 5 requires Snow Leopard 10.6.3 what will upgrade due to QT Pr

You can save the following folders before installing Snow Leo:
/Mac HD/Library/Applications Support/ProApps
/Mac HD/Library/Applications Support/Final Cut Studio
(check the names, I'm not 100% as I'm not in front of my edit machine)

Then you do a clean install - don't forget to include QuickTime 7 in the install options - and once done, place the 2 folders above in the same location.

It'll keep your QT Pro registration - btw it's not a hacker's tip, the info in the licence file is linked to your machine, so you can't give to a friend as it won't work on another Mac. ;-)

I plan to carbon copy clone before upgrading and maybe down the line try a ground up install. Is there any issue doing a ground up install from the upgrade disk?
