Just make sure you have a fast CPU. AVCIntra is a highly complex codec and therefore requires a lot more CPU horsepower than say, DNxHD.

Ah yes it's AVC intra 100 using the P2 recorder on the back on the D21 so
that all sounds fine with AMA.

You can record onto a P2 card into AVCIntra but that's different from AVCHD.
AVCIntra is supported through AMA. AVCHD is supported through the older
import process. The two are very different formats. AVCIntra is stored in an
MXF file. AVCHD is stored in an MPEG-2 Transport Stream file.

So just checking I'm right. You can record from a D21 onto p2 cards using
AVC and then edit natively in MC? Is there a down side to doing this?
Performance or anything else?
