> Starting to get requests for Blue Ray so I was curious about Toast
(which I had). I set it up for Blue Ray DVD, dropped in an HD
quicktime, put a standard DVD in my Quad core mac and it burned. Now
I can't check it until I get home but what the heck do I have here?
I did not use a Blue Ray burner or a HD dvd.
I answer:
What you have is a DVD with Blu-ray encoded material on it. It will
play on most Blu-ray players as if it was a Blu-ray disk, just not for
as long (DVD's can hold up to about 50 min of Blu-ray encoded material).
If you had a compatible Blu-ray drive, it is possible to burn a real
Blu-ray disk (BD-R) with it on a Mac using Toast. As you know, once
you've burned it though, you can't play it on the Mac.
Other World Computing has compatible Blu-ray drives (I think both
external and internal) that can do the job.

I say:
It's only weird because you can't check the disk on the Mac. You
need a Blu-ray player or a Blu-ray equipped PC to QC the disk.
