I should specify that this is XDCAM EX 35Mb footage and what you want to
do is create XDCAM EX 35Mb long GOP consolidated files, just like the
original, but shorter. You could use these to "archive" the sequence or
create a "selects" library to share among other Avid or FCP editors.
So the goal is to enjoy the thrill that is AMA and never have to create
an MXF media file or lose quality.
