Re: [Avid-L2] OT: Avid-Specific iPhone Apps?

Unfortunately, Avid DNxHD codec flavors are raster/framerate dependent.

AJA utility completely ignores that and allows users to pickup and calculate based on any combination of compression and format, e.g. DNxHD220 for 1080p/24.

This could lead to erroneous results, so I'm not sure if I can trust any other calculation from this Datarate calculator.

Obviously AJA guys who wrote the app. have little or no clue about the DNxHD codec, and they are not alone. Another 'A' named company (color grading) perpetrates same confusion for over a year. To them, the highest quality DNxHD codec is 220, no matter your project format.

The AJA datacalc is just great!

FREE and you can calculate DNXHD storage.
