That would have been the easiest way to get the video. Then we've used a
freeware program Super Video Converter (from eright software) to convert to
something our editing system understands. I have no idea if the HDMI on
those things is copy protected or not.

It appears that some genius has broken the USB. Tried it on 2 mac's and a
PC, and they don't so much as beep when it's connected.
