Re: [Avid-L2] San Solution

Rick,
were you using fibre hubs instead of switches? That was an issue with
fibre hubs, since they share a common bandwidth. We had that as well,
but we chose to purchase the $4k hub instead of the $20k switch which
were the prices at that time. Transoft was always clear to us that
this would happen if we chose a hub over switches when we made the
original purchase. We also had raid 0 drives that bit us a couple of
times. Since the move to switches, it has completely disappeared for
us since every port is isolation. We have used Switches and RAID 5
since the Commandsoft installation and the ONLY time we had problems
was when we had a couple of students do something REALLY stupid they
were supposed to, like unplugging the fibre cable during a write.
