Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Preserving Closed Captions from a Sony HDW-D1800 HDCam

Terry,

As I posted eariler, I tried going into the console and enabling preserve CC data. I got the message that it wasn't supported with the current hardware configuration. The help file states Adrenaline and makes no reference to the Nitris. I'm working on MC 3.5 with Nitris DX.

The Adrenaline Hd and the Nitris DX are the only hardware capable of preserving the CC data in HD.

I believe it's around line 8 but sense you can't see it like SD closed captioning you need a decoder to tell if it's there and being maintained.

I get my Closed Caption master tape back from the caption house and want to make copies of it for distribution. I should be able to capture it into the Avid via HD-SDI with the Ancillary Data Option turned on in the Media Creation Settings and then dump it back to another tape with the captions preserved. Apparently I'm doing something wrong as the copy has no captions. Thoughts? Thanks in advance for any insight into what I'm missing.
