[Avid-L2] New Camcorder Question - Avid Interoperability

Hi Everyone -

We are beginning to look at capital purchase requests for our next
fiscal year. I am interested in submitting a request for several
camcorders that can be used by our upper level production classes and my
staff for institutional or departmental projects.

My question to everyone is this - can you recommend a good tapeless
camcorder that you have found works well with Avid Media Composer?

We don't shoot HD here - just standard definition digital video.

I'd rather leave the mini-DV format and go tapeless due to issues we've
had with mini-DV. I've seen a lot of discussion on the list about P2 so
we might look at this if it's in our budget, but I'm looking for other
options as well.

I'll take all suggestions - those of you who might ask about pricing,
we're looking in the range of $2,500-$3,000 per camcorder, but if you
don't know anything about a camcorder's price that works well for you,
feel free to throw it out as an option.

Thanks in advance for all ideas you might offer!
