You should use versioner now to update the dongle (only) and continue to
run the old software.

Also, the dongle util can run a test to check for a compatilble
dongle/updater combo without actually blasting it,

If in doubt, throw someone's Symphony v.4 dongle on your system and
make sure it will launch.
