Not at this point in time. But why would it be possible to work with 2TB's
of DNxHD 115, but not with 4TB's of R3D? Small step, IMHO. As long as the
codec would work as flexibly as DNxHD (or ProRes or DV).

Assuming something like RedRocket giving you RT 2K debayering of 4K R3D
files, allowing you to work in an editing application with a few layers of
RT picture, some realtime effects, that doesn't seem too futuristic, does
it?

That's how I (and others) have been doing it for over a decade in Avid.
