RE: [Avid-L2] Re: Red to MXF (Clipster)

Well, Job, since you asked. I would not normally post something this
overtly commercial but the Clipster may be of use to some Avid users
workflows....

Well I DID say expensive but it does a lot more than just play back and
render Red, Arri and Phantom data files in realtime.

Some of what it can do as well as allowing the creation of native Avid
MXF files faster than realtime from Red, Arri, Phantom and DPX files
(with Edge and ToD timecode;

Faster than real-time RGB Rec.709/P3/P7 to XYZ 16bit DCDM TIFF
sequences,

2048x1080, 2048x858 an 1998x1080 2D and Stereo DCP J2K encoding and
packaging with KDM creation and supplemental DCP workflow.

Dual link and 3G support as well as double speed playback to HDCAM SR
5800

From 4K to SD playback with real-time up and downconvert to anything in
between,

DPX, TIFF, QuickTime playback to any SD or HD baseband framerate or
raster (including 1080p 50 and 60) etc. etc.

And you can drive it from your DaVinci/Pandora as if it were a telecine.
You put the Red files on a Clipster timeline and have it downconvert to
HD, attach the DaVinci to the Clipster (playing real-time 4K Red
files/Arri files/Phantom files out at HD) and you can be grading RT 4K
on a DaVinci in HD.

It starts at about 58,500 Euros
