RE: [Avid-L2] Re: OT: Rates? in LA...

I know this discussion already moved away but here are some LA numbers:

Network Shows offline starting at $650 a day for a 10 hour day. Union. (Over
time night rules and most important medical if you qualify)

Another network show started their offline guys at $750 same rules as above.

MTV's show $700 non union.

Off network (discovery, TLC and the likes) 450-550 10 hour day.

Online is usually higher but less days per week.

I know facilities do pay less. As they offer guarantee's and medical.

Now for the kicker: studio feature films. 8K a week for a cheap editor with
good credit. (what I heard, sadly not personal experience)

Jeez, you have all the fun. I had a client look at me funny when I
suggested we chuck a toilet off a roof (they made cleaning products). I had
a tag
line of "There's a better way to get rid of those pesky stains". We ended
up using one of those pizzabox water drop disoulves to have the crap
magically disappear.

I heard the spot was a hit in South America.

sigh...

Clearly you missed my latest work for CMT. We had a catapult that lofted
an upright Dishwasher and Dryer a good 500 plus feet. Then we crushed an
upright piano with a 10 ton mace ball on a crane. How can you say there is
no quality on TV. I get goose bumps thinking of the scene where they
crushed a mobile home with the mace ball.
