[Avid-L2] Re: Why isn't Avid marketing all over this story?

"I find this whole corporate gag order nonsense to be just that, nonsense. ;-)"

Mr. Moore,

I must actually agree with Jeff S. regarding restrictions corporations frequently place on publicity efforts. For a wide variety of reasons, we often are NOT able to promote the news that we're using a specific piece of equipment or vendor on a show. I can recall a situation a long time ago when a particular company wanted to tell the world about what we were doing. Turns out, the network that we happened to work most closely with had a HUGE marketing partnership with a company based in Seattle. (Hint: they didn't make coffee or airplanes) Long story short... no permission to use images from the show.

It happens. It happens more frequently than most would imagine. Usually for much more mundane reasons like nobody wants to say "yes" when the easiest thing to do is to say no.
