Then there is PCoIP. Saw a demo today and it is very impressive.

Takes the DVI outputs and the USB over ethernet. Client hardware chip is even built into a Samsung monitor if you want. It can scale quality depending upon available bandwidth. Which means you can use it over the internet also.
