[Avid-L2] Re: Decompose Issue

You shouldn't decompose imported clips. I've seen this behavior when AE's add tape names to imports so the Avid thinks of it as a tape source. The other gotcha is it will import from the beginning of the clip so you end up with the clip being off because Avid only tracks the first frame and then an offset when it deals with tape sources. You can import the clips normally and then cut them back in. I've found that the time code of the imported clips is usually correct for the fully and correctly imported clip. The other way is to do the batch import before you decompose, this assumes no one has consolidated or decomposed before you get the sequence.
