[Avid-L2] portable editing

I sometimes run MC 4.02 on my MacBook Pro 2.8 GHz core 2 duo. Its
always been standard def or dv media though. Can I edit 1080i media
from a Sony F900 ( if captured on another system and transferred to my
portable location) by using a sata card and portable raid set up? Or
is this not enough horsepower? Client wants an on-location system and
not sure if I can provide with what I have.
