[Avid-L2] RED won't play

I've upgraded to V5 Symphony; Classic, xxw8400.
Linked to EX3, QT and a .R3D. The EX3 and QT play great.. The Red plays erratically. With Media Creation setting for R3D set to Full, I've opened the Transcode window for the Red clip. When I click Transcode, the computer restarts. With Media Creation set to Half (Best), it transcodes fine.Transcoded file is good.
The Red clip plays perfectly in Redcine-X and on DS. Redcine-X says the clip is 23.98 / 76fps.

So why cant I play R3D files? Tried other R3D files, and all are erratic.
