Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Valid Support Contract, but MC won't launch

I have had this issue since June, and after a few rounds with Support at that time I have been actively working in other NLEs with not enough time to deal with support over the problem.

I'm going through the same thing for the 3rd time with my 3 licenses.  Even though I renewed using the renew support link on my avid products page the information never gets transfered to the support folks.  Back in December I went through the exact same thing on two of my licenses one software and one dongle.  Now with my second dongle licenses that I renewed in late May the dongle file I can download has not been updated with my renewed support.

When I downloaded the dongle updater file the status of the license changed to active but the expiration date did not update.  I recall from previous threads until the update is downloaded the status wouldn't update on the my product page.  Now I have the experience of the status changing to active but the dongle updater file hasn't gotten the memo so to speak.

I don't think Avid could make the renewal process more problematic if they set out with that goal in mind.  Fortunately I have not been burned in a mission critical situation and support has always been quick to offer a temp license if needed but that's not really the point is it.

Oh wait I see another episode of 6 Million Dollar Man on Antenna TV.  Timing is everything isn't it?  ;-(

Ugh...

I have a valid support contract (expires 7/30/2017) yet MC 8.6.2 thinks my contract expired 7/30/2016 and now refuses to launch.   FOR F#$@S SAKE, IT SAYS MY SUPPORT CONTRACT IS VALID RIGHT THERE IN THE APPLICATION MANAGER, but MC seems to not feel like believing it.

Anyone ever seen this happen?
