Greetings, Listers.
I'm conducting an inventory of post-production equipment for a company
that produced a now-canceled television show. The inventory will be
completed in about a week, and the equipment will be ready to sell
within two to three weeks.
What is the proper etiquette for posting "for-sale" items in this list .
. . or directing members of this list to external postings?
Thanks in advance.

Crickets.
More information: we now find it does NOT operate fine in HD. It did the other day, but not today.
I've swamped the box with another card/processor combo and the problem goes with the box.
Before I pull the thing out of the rack to send back to Avid, anyone have an easy fix?
Thanks!

Re: [Avid-L2] Re: OT: [comedy] Promo for Law & Order UK
To elucidate for the American cousins...
Knickers are pants which are known on this side of the pond as undies so
to speak.
Knackers are what blokes keep in their pants with their tallywhacker.
So, typo or lost in translation?

[Avid-L2] Nitris upgrade offer
Interestingly on the web site it says this
This offer expires March 18, 2011, and is available only while supplies
last, so act now to turn your old Avid gear into a high-performance editing
engine.
How could they run out it's a current product.. Unless...

RE: [Avid-L2] Re: AMA between mac and PC relinking
Ah yes but what happens when say 4 separate drives where all mounted as L:
for example.
It is straightforward to relink the clips, but what if we have 200 bins! And
6 shows..

Bring all your rushes into Avid 1st with File/Link to AMA into a new bin and
then do a relink to AMA of the sequences and clips.
The Link to AMA 1st seems to tell Avid (on PC) where the files are and then
it can relink your sequences.
Any files that are stubborn you can right click on the clip and hit relink
to AMA media which lets you browse and point to the media.
You are correct though that if the drive letter changes Avid loses the link
(sometimes!) Re importing the AMA files (which are only reference files
after all) seems to restore the link.
This tutorial for the Boris AAF plugin shows you how to do it:
http://www.borisfx.com/videos/AAF-Transfer/Relink.php
The tutorial suggests that it only works with Apple Prores files but I have
tried it with DV and MP4 files and it seems to work fine.
The Boris product is very good as well especially if you have Boris
continuum on FCPro and Avid. Seems to be very quick and easy.
Good luck
Nick

[Avid-L2] Re: AMA between mac and PC relinking
Bring all your rushes into Avid 1st with File/Link to AMA into a new bin and then do a relink to AMA of the sequences and clips.
The Link to AMA 1st seems to tell Avid (on PC) where the files are and then it can relink your sequences.
Any files that are stubborn you can right click on the clip and hit relink to AMA media which lets you browse and point to the media.
You are correct though that if the drive letter changes Avid loses the link (sometimes!) Re importing the AMA files (which are only reference files after all) seems to restore the link.
This tutorial for the Boris AAF plugin shows you how to do it:
http://www.borisfx.com/videos/AAF-Transfer/Relink.php
The tutorial suggests that it only works with Apple Prores files but I have tried it with DV and MP4 files and it seems to work fine.
The Boris product is very good as well especially if you have Boris continuum on FCPro and Avid. Seems to be very quick and easy.
Good luck
Nick
