[Avid-L2] Cut and Paste Text from title tool into email?

In trying to cut and paste text from the title tool into a firefox yahoo email I could see the text when I pasted it in but when I sent the email only the first few lines came through.  This was a simple multi-lined slate with all the text coming from one text field.  I found on retrying if I pasted the text into the body of an email and then rehighlighted the pasted text and copied that and pasted it lower in the email the text appeared with a bunch of black diamond shapes with a "?" mark in the middle of the diamond.  On much of the text but not all this occured.  I could delete the ? mark diamonds and then the slate text was e mailable.  I assume these diamond ? marks are some sort of formatting characters that the title tool hides.  Does anybody know of a more sophisticate way of removing these diamond marks other than manually deleting them?

Re: [Avid-L2] Cannon 5D ama really basic dumb question?

Well I heard back from the Camera Person and this footage was shot on a Canon c100.  The operator mentioned that this camera had a "True Video Sensor".  I'm not sure what that means exactly but I will contact him for clarification.  The specs list a CMOS sensor.  Is there something about the scan rate, if that is the proper term that would make this a True Video Sensor vs. the sensor on a 5D?  Here are some of the record format specs off the Canon website:

Recording
Video storage media SD/SDHC/SDXC card (2 card slots)
Recording time 64GB SD card: up to 5 hours, 55 minutes. ( 1920 x 1080 @24Mbps VBR)AVCHD
Recording file format AVCHD
Recording format MPEG-4 AVC/H.264
24 Mbps LPCM VBR (4:2:0);
24 Mbps VBR (4:2:0);
17 Mbps VBR (4:2:0);
7 Mbps VBR (4:2:0, 1440 x 1080).
Recording frame rate 59.94 Hz mode (NTSC): 60i/PF30/PF24/24p;¹
50.00 Hz mode (PAL): 50i/PF25.¹

Re: [Avid-L2] Uninstall Madness

I wouldn't argue that point with you David; I'm sure it's true.  But I'm equally sure such issues are less common with supported OS versions.

In this case, as Stefan confirmed towards the end of this thread, his problems started when he upgraded from 10.9.1, which is supported, to 10.9.2 which is not.

Cheers,

Michael, I'm gonna have to chime in here and say that your comment isn't quite fair in that these uninstall issues are not isolated to efforts to install on unsupported and/or unqualified OS's. Because that's just not true. I've had uninstall frustrations on boxes that were supposedly 100% qualified for the versions being installed. So let's be fair about this, and not assume that there's no problem based on the false assertion that these problems do not exist on supported versions and OS's. Because that just ain't so.

When I initially started my migration, I HAD an approved operating system.  And actually, you're wrong Evan, Mavericks 10.9.1 was finally approved for use with MC 6.5 (or else I never would have made the jump in the first place).

But then with the recent SSL issue and I HAD to update, guess what? I'm not on an approved system.  And despite following all the recommended protocols previously I was given, still the issue.

Fortunately both David and Marianna are both ACTUALLY classy individuals and have reached out to me.

I will wait until the latest approved update comes out and hope for the best.

Re: [Avid-L2] Uninstall Madness

In the immortal words of Ron Burgundy: Stay classy, Avid-L2.

Everyone take a deep breath. Many people have websites that aren't mobile ready. It's no reason he shouldn't be able to edit. The OS thing is certainly one of the major factors. Apple doesn't make it easy for Avid on purpose. It's one of the reasons for Avid's temporary departure from Mac several years ago. It's like, can you imagine if all of America's tanks and battleships were manufactured by Russian or China? I love Macs for most things, but Avid definitely runs better on a PC.

[Avid-L2] Interview with OSCAR nominated editor of Gravity

It took me five months to get this interview posted (the editor agreed immediately, but it had to go through Warner Bros...).

The Nitris DX will not work with a T-Bolt adapter.  We did test this and there are technical limitations disallowing Nitris DX to work with a T-Bolt adapter.
