Well I heard back from the Camera Person and this footage was shot on a Canon c100. The operator mentioned that this camera had a "True Video Sensor". I'm not sure what that means exactly but I will contact him for clarification. The specs list a CMOS sensor. Is there something about the scan rate, if that is the proper term that would make this a True Video Sensor vs. the sensor on a 5D? Here are some of the record format specs off the Canon website:
Recording | |
---|---|
Video storage media | SD/SDHC/SDXC card (2 card slots) |
Recording time | 64GB SD card: up to 5 hours, 55 minutes. ( 1920 x 1080 @24Mbps VBR)AVCHD |
Recording file format | AVCHD |
Recording format | MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 24 Mbps LPCM VBR (4:2:0); 24 Mbps VBR (4:2:0); 17 Mbps VBR (4:2:0); 7 Mbps VBR (4:2:0, 1440 x 1080). |
Recording frame rate | 59.94 Hz mode (NTSC): 60i/PF30/PF24/24p;¹ 50.00 Hz mode (PAL): 50i/PF25.¹ |

cool, thanks for posting!
It took me five months to get this interview posted (the editor agreed immediately, but it had to go through Warner Bros...).
In preparation fo the OSCARs tomorrow night, check out the interview I did with "Gravity" co-editor, Mark Sanger, on how the editing of Gravity was basically a four year project, including massive amounts of pre-editing and coordination between editing and VFX. All cut in Media Composers and an Avid Unity.Steve Hullfish

I wouldn't argue that point with you David; I'm sure it's true. But I'm equally sure such issues are less common with supported OS versions.
In this case, as Stefan confirmed towards the end of this thread, his problems started when he upgraded from 10.9.1, which is supported, to 10.9.2 which is not.
Cheers,

Michael, I'm gonna have to chime in here and say that your comment isn't quite fair in that these uninstall issues are not isolated to efforts to install on unsupported and/or unqualified OS's. Because that's just not true. I've had uninstall frustrations on boxes that were supposedly 100% qualified for the versions being installed. So let's be fair about this, and not assume that there's no problem based on the false assertion that these problems do not exist on supported versions and OS's. Because that just ain't so.

You created your own problem by running the software on an unsupported operating system version. Not too surprising, then, that some members of this forum are unsympathetic to your ensuing rant about how crappy Avid software is. Not so classy, that. I'm impressed by how many folks offered help nonetheless.
If you still need to discharge some anger, maybe Apple would be a more appropriate target. You know -- the company that left the gaping security hole in 10.9.1 which prompted your unfortunate OS upgrade.

Classy, Evan Wright! Thanks.
When I initially started my migration, I HAD an approved operating system. And actually, you're wrong Evan, Mavericks 10.9.1 was finally approved for use with MC 6.5 (or else I never would have made the jump in the first place).
But then with the recent SSL issue and I HAD to update, guess what? I'm not on an approved system. And despite following all the recommended protocols previously I was given, still the issue.
Fortunately both David and Marianna are both ACTUALLY classy individuals and have reached out to me.
I will wait until the latest approved update comes out and hope for the best.

Sent from my iPadSeems like all of this uninstall fiasco could have been avoided in the first place by installing the Avid software on a QUALIFIED operating system. It makes complete sense that the uninstall is also having issues, as it too is running on an unqualified OS. Seems the easiest way to fix everything would be to simply-- and properly (meaning use backups) reformat your drive back to Mountain Lion, then reinstall Media Composer. Once that is done, that should give you time to fix your own coffeecartproductions website that is also broken, which offers iPad visitors a black void instead of a home page. Seems like you are IT challenged, and not Avid.

In the immortal words of Ron Burgundy: Stay classy, Avid-L2.
I'm floored by the level of empathy of some of the people in this group. The funny thing is I have never made a single castigating statement toward an individual and yet, I have been come at now twice who had more empathy for their fucking editing software company than someone having a legitimately rough time.To the people who have offered solutions, ideas and support, thank you.To those who have come in, not even half aware of the things I have done and been through. . . Well, even if I never get to witness it my sense of schadenfreude delights in your future karma.I won't answer any more posts like Evan or Michael's. Quite frankly I have already wasted my time even processing your lack of interpersonal kindness.
