First, for 1 dollar a minute it's not great value, it's dirt cheap, and I can't imagine it has any quality.
I charge 1 dollar a minute just to watch something.
(We had this discussion before.)
Now, for your problem:
I take it
rev.com sends you a zip file.
Did you unzip that on your avid? Things may be messed up if you mail an unzipped file.
If that does not work, can you mail me an example? (It has been years since I've touched my SCC code, but it's still there.)

So, I don't know if anyone's run into this - we've started using REV.com to generate closed caption files - it's a great value! However, the .scc files from REV don't open in Media Composer. However, until recently, you could simply open the REV version of the .scc file in Premiere, then export it again - sort of 'washing' the file through premiere - and that resulting file opens as expected in Media Composer. The latest version of Premiere, however doesn't export .scc files, consequently this trick no longer works.
Anyone know why .scc files from REV.com don't open in Media Composer? Is there a way to edit/tweak/convert them without using Premiere (or some more expensive piece of software?) I wonder if the problem is on the REV side or the Avid side. It would be great to fix this! Maybe the next version of Media Composer could accept .srt files or something, too - that would be great.
Thoughts?
