[Avid-L2] OL Audio on a Panasonic Lumix DMX-G3

Has anybody found a way to feed an external mike/line to a
Panasonic Lumix DMX-G3?

This is a WIFI connected camera with an APP that allows you to see the picture on your iPad as you are recording, it gives you a number of manual functions, including the loudness of beeps, but no audio level, go figure.

RE: [Avid-L2] [FR] - 5 Bin Things

It does. I misunderstood Steve's post to mean he had trouble finding the project window amongst multiple open bins. Ctrl+9 highlights it but doesn't make it look any different from the others!

Surely Ctrl+9 does what you are looking for?

For me, I don't really want to color my bins - though I realize others do - but

I definitely like to change the color of my PROJECT window because it looks so

much like a BIN and I have a tendency to accidentally close it. When I could

subtly change the project window, I never used to make that mistake.

Re: [Avid-L2] Editing Source Track Button Names

What about for Groups? I'm actually not worried about the sequences. I
only mentioned them because I thought that the same rules would apply.

But I did notice that the custom track names will revert back to the
default if you make subgroups of groups that you've already edited the
names with. Not sure what happens when you duplicate them.

Make one empty sequence to your specs, then duplicate that instead of
creating a new sequence each time.

[Avid-L2] Editing Source Track Button Names

Is there any way to batch edit or create templates for Sequence or group track names?

Right now I'm editing the audio track names for every group we make (for ISOS, boom, etc.) and after about 500 groups now, I've becoming extremely frustrated with the process:

Right Click > Click Rename Track > Name the Track > Click Ok with the mouse (no numpad enter) > Repeat > Repeat x 2498

Take 500 groups and multiplay that by an average of 5 track reassignments and I've done this 2500 times. Would be nice to have a way to edit all tracks at the same time or to apply user-made templates to your track names. This would have saved me a ton of time...

Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks

Re: [Avid-L2] XP Computer Crashed- Please Help find MC 5.? version to Download

Start here for the downloading part:
http://www.avid.com/US/support/downloads

As to stability, I'd say 5.5, but YMMV.
I'm sure others on the L2 will have more insight/opinions on that.

You can still download the trial version of 5.5 from Avid's website.
http://apps.avid.com/media-composer-trial/

Then just authorise it using your dongle, easy.

Re: [Avid-L2] Re: [FR] - 5 Bin Things

Tony,

Thanks for the positive feedback on the book.
It may sound corny, but it does mean something to me that it's helpful.
On a couple of occasions (while dealing with some wacky things with one of the editors),
I lamented to Michael Phillips, "Please tell me this is worth it."
So Tony, thanks for making it worth it.

Cheers!

And that customization should be tied to the user and not project or global.

Working with someone on a shared Unity project with another editor who
likes gigantic fonts can be seriously annoying to an editor who likes to
see a few columns in a bin without scrolling.
