I concur with John's advice. Same experience on my end.

[Avid-L2] Re: EDL Manager Won't Open
[Avid-L2] Re: EDL Manager Won't Open
I'd shot gun it by uninstalling avid and reinstalling the program along with the utilities. You can install the utilities at the same time if you choose custom install and check the utilities also so you get the whole shabang in on swoop. This has been my experience with mcsoft on my MBP, PC's are different as the patch is just a patch not a complete install so I won't speak to that platform. I have encountered issues with edl manager in the recent past around ver 3.5 and reinstalling worked then. I can't prove it but my recent experience has led me to always update the helper utility apps when I upgrade. It may not be necessary but I've been burned a few times and it's just my standard practice now. Of course there is always the chance edl manager might have a bad version but I haven't heard of that or experienced a problem on my mc 5.0.3.5 back to 5.0.3.

[Avid-L2] EDL Manager Won't Open
We can't get EDL Manager to open on MC 5.0.3. When you open it, the latest versions, you get a Bus Thread error that crashes the application.
Anyone know anything about this or how to get the darned think up and running?
Thanks,
David

[Avid-L2] Re: AMA and relinking
I recall a previous thread where you could view the UNC path for an import in a bin column but IIRC the heading was only available in 24 Frame projects or something like that. Don't know if that's changed of late but if that heading is available perhaps that might give you a clue. I'm not sure if that heading would apply to AMA or not as I haven't had to use AMA in my online workflows YET!!!!!

[Avid-L2] AMA and relinking
HI there,
I can't really find any documentation that explains exactly how AMA finds
and refinds media, is there a definitive document on this? Some people are
saying UMID but not all media has this, like some QT's, or is it paths, or
both or what? And what's the priority list if there is one?
What is it looking for, drive letter and paths, filenames?
So if you want to relink QT's from a drive that was on another machine how
do you know what the path was? The bin column for drive is empty I guess
because the media isn't where it's expected but how do you know where it is
supposed to be? I can't see anywhere the whole path is stored when the file
is originally linked to be able to mount the drive in the right place
Relinking files for a big project seems a mammoth task if it works
especially with QT's because you can't relink volume you have to relink
files individually?
And finally if you wanted to import files that had previously had been AMA'd
this only works if the clip name hasn't been modified because the import
window looks for clip names which will be different to the source file name.
Or am I confused? Batch import for the final edit at high rez would be good
but how would you do this?
I am assuming if you kept everything the same, file name, and exact location
including drive letter the media would relink on another machine?
Thanks

Especially Adrenaline HD, it has a bigger lag where you can actually see the timeline keep playing after you hit stop, etc.

Thanks again Terence, I'm guessing this means skip Adrenaline HD as well.

If you are going tapeless, do yourself a HUGE favor and skip Adrenaline altogether. It adds a delay that will drive you nuts. If you need external monitoring, tell them you want MojoDX or MXO.
