Curious why you say GTX-680 is native support. I purchased one that was Mac friendly from EVGA. The K5000 is a different card isn't it? Have there been no mac friendly versions of the GTX-780 or GTX-980? I never looked at those since I've had the GTX-680. Does this mean that the only avenue for the later GTX-Xs or the titan/titanx is macvidcards to get the right boot efi installed if you want the boot screen? Another gotcha I had with the 680 was I had to hack the allowed GPUs text file for Adobe CS 6 so that it would recognize the 680 for gpu acceleration. I'm told the Creative Cloud Adobe suites will recognize the 680 and don't need the hack but I haven't checked that out specifically.
There are also OS requirements for the different cards. I'm currently purchasing and expansion chassis after I got two TitanX cards at the end of last year. My plan is to keep the GTX-680 in the tower mac pro and put the two titanxs in the expansion chassis. Then I won't be required to send the titanxs to macvidcards and it will allow me to startup on older Mac OSs as needed. I'm told with the titanX I would need to run MacOS 10.10 at a minimum for it to work. The older Titan cards didn't have that requirement of OS 10.10. What I'm not fully versed in is what if I run Mac OS 10.9.5 with the 680 as the GUI will the titanX cards be usable at all. I was told by MacVidCards, who can mac flash the titanXs, that I would need to be on 10.10 in order for them to work. I don't know if that means that's what is necessary for them to work in a non GUI capacity to speed up Resolve, Adobe Etc... Terry C mentioned that I'd have to be on the latest OS for Resolve to see the two TitanX GPUs for extra processing power so I understand that is a requirement along with the later Resolve versions require a minimum of 10.10 just to be able to install the software. So I will be learning more down the line in this regards. Anyone got any insight into my expansion chassis quandries along with my super dooper TitanX overclocked models from the end of last year?

Can anyone suggest the specific card that I should try to acquire, something beefy, something with the right coding for After Effects and Smoke? Thanks!
