On Mac Avid doesn't like when the two monitors aren't the same size and if you don't have them lined up even vertically in the display orientation I've seen some very odd behavior with tops of bins cut off and no way to get to the bin close button. This also happens with things like audio tool or time code window. I've been stumped a few times till I went and jiggered the display orientation and dragged elements to the other monitor where I got full view of the window. It's been a while so it's not fresh in my mind but when it happens I long for the key combo PC's have when a window was positioned off screen in a manner you couldn't drag it around. I forget what that key combo was but it helped in a pinch. On mac sometimes the home menu command helps. I always feel like a complete bone head when I get stuck in that mode.

I understand that Avid wants to see monitor #1 as primary and on the left. And I understand that the monitors need to be in a straight line.
But what I do not understand is how I can swap cables and the location of the monitor NOT CHANGE.
Or in tonight's exciting edition, monitor #1 is primary and on the left and yet Avid STILL boots to the right hand monitor.
Maybe I'm just not that bright, but it seems in 2015 we should have this buttoned up.
Is there some Nvidia super-secret setting that I am missing out on?
